I tried it on 2 files, one a12.5 Mbps MPEG4 file, and the other an ~16 Mbps MPEG2 file. Perhaps the resolution and/or aspect ratio needs to be configured? But another strange thing was that although both files were HD 16/9, they were displayed in some strange aspect ratio which looked taller than wide, although it may have been 4/3. xorg.conf is absent, as it should. Now, I do have xorg.conf.failsafe but not xorg.conf. Ie although the card I have is a class 10, rated to 20 MBps, and should be plenty fast, perhaps since the card is also being used for the OS would I assume that the MPEG2 file was playing via software, but was hoping that the MPEG4 file might use hardware acceleration, but if anything, the MPEG2 file might have played faster.
