If the issue persists, you may enable the userenv logging to help identifying the issue. Try moving the script to \\domaincontroller\netlogon and pointing to it in the GPO.

Try using the UNC path (\\fileserver\share\script.bat) to manually kick off the script and test the access. This logon script hasn't existed in months and for whatever reason, this machine will not see that has changed.
